Square Enix brought the house down at Gamescom by debuting a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, officially confirming that the third and final entry in the remake trilogy will launch on April 8, 2027. The game will be available across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The new footage gave us an extensive look at the colossal Weapons, which have emerged to wreak catastrophic destruction upon the planet. Open-world exploration is getting a massive upgrade, allowing the party to traverse the environment using parachutes, grappling hooks, and Chocobo mounts. 🎨 The FITS System & Character Renders
One of the biggest gameplay reveals was the new FITS system. This feature allows characters to change outfits—granting them unique abilities and specialized combat roles inspired by classic jobs. To celebrate the reveal, Square Enix dropped incredibly detailed new character renders with poses referencing the artwork in the original game.
