Why I chose this one…
So not only is Cal Kestis basically my doppelganger… I’m also a pretty big Star Wars fan – I wouldn’t say enthusiast, I still need to watch all of the Clone Wars and I’ve missed a lot of Rebels, and most of what I know about Star Wars is from the movies, Disney+ and Youtube. More importantly I NEVER played the first of this duo, Star Wars: Fallen Order. I know, I know, I should not be playing this yet. But what can I say, I don’t mind spoilers? Needless to say I was still stoked to hear this game was getting released, and with my latest GameFly Subscription, I might as well scoop it up and check it out.
Fantastic story beginning.
Speaking of spoilers, this game gives us “story skippers” a recap so we can get an idea of what we are walking into. I can say I definitely appreciate the recap for those of us skipping the first playthrough. But I can also say that it made me want to go back and give it a quick play through. How hard is this one?
So the difficulty I chose was kind of based on the story, I don’t want to spend my stream getting mad that I can’t win. I’m not that kind of streamer… So we left it as Jedi Knight. At first I kept thinking I should up the difficulty, it seemed almost too easy. But then came the inquisitor and it kind of made sense? One, I wasn’t parrying, damned button masher mentality. And two, I think maybe it’s meant to be that way, sense the Jedi are just OP when it comes to basic storm troopers anyway. And being the first ten minutes, chill bro, lol.
Game seemed a bit TOO linear at first…
I love to explore, but in this case it lead to my repeated death. So it took me time to learn that i needed to stay in bounds, but once I did all went well, plus there is mention of side quests, or rooms to return to, so perhaps my “loot addiction” will be quenched later in game. The map is pretty straight forward, easy to use, self explanatory, ya know… a map.
C-C-C-COOOMBAT!!!
Combat is so fun, it is a bit clunky now but I can see with reading the moves to come it’s going to be awesome. I can’t wait to gain more Skill Points so I can see what the combat really has to offer later in game. I’m definitely excited to make the way through the rest of the story.
