How to Become a Twitch Affiliate in Less than 1 Month

Do you ever envision your future self streaming on twitch, but you don’t quite know how to go about it?

Here are the main objectives you need to get the “Become a Twitch Affiliate” achievement in life.

Have a consistent average of 3 or more viewers watching at the same time over the last 30 days

I’m listing this first because this one can be the most time consuming if not done correctly from the start. Twitch keeps track of your average viewers and your average needs to be at 3 or more.

A common mistake is to start streaming for long hours as much as possible. Doing this will lower your average in the beginning.

Instead, only stream when you can get someone to watch (or at least have your stream on in the background) and watch your own stream on your phone or tablet to get your average views up early.

Stream on 7 different days in a month

This one’s pretty easy. Just set your phone or tablet to watch you stream. Then get your one other person to watch you stream for an hour or so. They can help you out with any issues that come up.

Experiment with different days and different times during the day if you can to find what works best for you.

Stream 8.5 hours within 30 days

This achievement should pop organically along with the “Stream on 7 different days” achievement.

I recommend only streaming for an hour or two each time. As long as your viewer average stays above 3, stream however you like.

Get 50 Followers

Choose however you like to gain 50 followers. Be creative. Ask friends and family. Make friends in other streams. Use Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok. Or just let your following grow naturally from curious people.

About a week after your channel becomes eligible, you will be invited via email.

Spend some time while you wait checking out other streams to get some ideas. Plan out some channel point and emote ideas for when you become Twitch Affiliate.

Congratulations! You are now a Twitch Affiliate and can begin to be compensated for your content!

Earning Revenue

Affiliates can earn revenue from Subscribers, Ads, and Bits.

Subscriptions and Emotes for Affiliates

Affiliates can have subscribers to start earning revenue on their channels. Emotes are a great way to customize your channel and reward your subscribers and cheerers. Custom emotes are a part of the subscription and Bit Cheerer benefits under the Twitch Partnership and Affiliate programs.

Cheering (with Bits) for Affiliates

Affiliates can use Bits to start earning revenue on their channels. They will receive 1 cent per Bit used to Cheer in their channel, same as Partners do, and will have access to all Cheering settings and features with the exception of Partner Custom Cheermotes. Affiliates will be able to track revenue from Bits on the Revenue tab of their Dashboard.

Advertising revenue share for Affiliates

Affiliates earn a share of the revenue generated from any video ads played on their channel. Affiliates can determine the length and frequency of mid-roll ad breaks through their dashboard.

Swing by our streams and leave a follow if this was helpful!
